Touch My Hand

There will always be a gigantic place in my musical soul for David Archuleta, no matter how successful he is in the eyes of the mainstream pop music industry. His voice is undeniable, and his aura just makes you want to smile and root for him. Part of my, shall we say, obsession last season was watching interview after interview and reading article after article about that kid. I almost feel like I know him personally. He is a genuinely good guy who avoids confrontation, appreciates every opportunity that comes his way and likes to create music with meaning. I have so much respect for him and look up to him in so many ways, despite him being :LOADS" of years younger than I am. Plus, he’s a fantastic role model for the youth of today.

David Archuleta visits with
President Thomas S. Monson

President Thomas S. Monson invited David Archuleta to visit him in his office March 27 when the teen singer was in Salt Lake City in preparation for a concert that evening in West Valley City, Utah. The "American Idol" runner-up and his parents, Jeff and Lupe Marie Archuleta, were visiting another office in the Church Administration Building when

the invitation was extended to visit with President Monson. The young singer treated President Monson and his office staff to an impromptu concert in a board room in the Administration Building. He sang "How Great Thou Art" from the LDS Hymnal. One office staff member said the rendition was "phenomenal."
